The same area can require entirely different access-point designs. Use, layout, materials, mounting height and device density shape the plan.
Technical value does not come from one product or an isolated metric. Requirements, risks, implementation and later operations must fit together and remain verifiable against clear criteria.
Office: capacity before maximum range
Meeting rooms, video calls, flexible desks and voice create local peaks. Good design controls cell size, coordinates channels and considers roaming between work areas.
Hall: take height and reflections seriously
Metal racks, machinery, stock and vehicles change the radio environment. Mounting height and antenna patterns must fit endpoints and work zones; simple area formulas are inadequate.
Hotel: many rooms, many constraints
Room walls, bathrooms, doors and floors attenuate heavily. Guests still expect simple access and stable service. Back office, POS, building systems and guest access require separate technical roles.
Common denominator: documented assumptions
Plans, building state, endpoints, mounting and cable routes must be accountable. This later helps separate design, installation, configuration and changed-use issues.
Practical decision criteria
1. Offices need capacity and clean roaming.
2. Halls require attention to height, metal and moving obstacles.
3. Hotels consist of many strongly attenuating zones.
4. Mounting and cabling belong in radio design from the start.
Preparation: information to have ready
Floor plans, sites and the applications actually in use should be available. This includes device classes, user counts, expected peak loads and areas with special operational importance.
Known faults, existing network segments, provider links and administration paths are documented before changes. This keeps assumptions, measurements and later decisions traceable.
Scope boundaries and dependable claims
Specific coverage, capacity, outage or security claims can only be assessed after the environment is understood. This article provides a technical framework; binding design, legal assessment and project-specific approval each require a clearly defined engagement.
